Visa On Arrival - What it is all about ?

This presents an alternative method to obtain your visa for Vietnam. Simply complete our « Online Application Form, » settle the service fee, receive your « Visa approval letter » within 2 business days, and collect your visa at your chosen airport of arrival (including Hanoi airport, Ho Chi Minh city airport, Cam Ranh Airport Nha Trang, and Da Nang Airport).

Once we secure the approval letter on your behalf, we will send you a duplicate via email. Additionally, duplicates of the same document will be sent to Vietnam Immigration checkpoints exclusively at International Airports. Upon your arrival in Vietnam, Immigration officers will have these documents prepared, facilitating a swift issuance of your entry visa (refer to our visa procedure guide at Vietnam airports for details).

The « Approval Letter for Visa » is an official document (endorsed by the Immigration Office) that grants permission for entry and exit from Vietnam within a specified duration. This letter enables you to collect your visa upon arrival at one of Vietnam’s three international airports (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang City – Cam Ranh Airport, and Da Nang).

Note 1: Typically, approval letters are issued collectively, meaning your details may appear alongside others in the same document. Should you require a private letter, please contact us via email at contact@evisa-vietnam-online.com. The process for obtaining a private approval letter may take approximately 4-5 business days.

Note 2: Once issued, the approval letter cannot be modified. If any changes are needed, you must apply for a new letter with updated information.

Typically, the processing time for the approval letter ranges from three (3) to five (5) business days (excluding Saturday, Sunday, and National Holidays), and in urgent situations, you can expect to receive the approval letter within the following time frames:

  • Same Day Processing (Business day): If you contact us before 10:00 AM Vietnam time on a Business day (Monday-Friday), you will receive the approval letter by 20:00 PM on the same business day.

  • Next Day Processing (Business day): If you contact us before 10:00 PM Vietnam time on a Business day (Monday-Friday), you will receive the approval letter by 20:00 PM on the next business day.

Please note that the processing times mentioned above do not apply to submissions made after 10:00 AM on Friday, as well as on Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, it’s important to consider the time zone difference between Vietnam and your location. You can check the current Vietnam time by clicking here.

Moreover, the visa counter at Vietnam airports operates 24/7. Therefore, if you already possess the approval letter, you can collect your visa at the Vietnam airport even on weekends.

For a 3-month visa approval letter, the processing time may extend up to 5 working days.

A digitally scanned version of the approval letter will be dispatched to your email, thus ensure the accuracy of the provided email address.

Certainly, visa on arrival does NOT APPLY for LAND ENTRY. The approval letter enables visa stamping at three international airports in Vietnam: Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi), Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City), Cam Ranh International Airport (Nha Trang), and Da Nang Airport (Da Nang).

Reminder: If your entry into Vietnam involves crossing land borders or arriving by cruise, it is necessary to visit a Vietnamese embassy to obtain your visa.

Application process .

Indeed, it is necessary. Nevertheless, photographs are only needed upon arrival at Vietnam’s airports. Hence, please ensure to carry at least 2 photographs of the standard passport size (04*06 cm).

Additional Note: In case you are unable to arrange these photos before your departure, you can have them taken at a Vietnamese airport for a cost of 2 USD or less per photo.

To request a visa for Vietnam, your passport needs to remain valid for a minimum of six months. Hence, if your passport’s expiration date is approaching, it is advisable to obtain a new one prior to applying for your visa. This precautionary measure helps prevent any potential complications during airport procedures.

No, it is not mandatory. The arrival date you provide can represent the earliest date you intend to arrive, and you are permitted to arrive after that date. However, please be aware that you must depart the country before the expiration date specified on the approval letter.

For instance, if you apply for a 1-month visa and indicate your arrival date as January 1, 2019, the visa letter will be valid from January 1, 2019, to February 1, 2019. You have the flexibility to arrive anytime between January 1 and February 1 but must ensure departure by February 1, 2019.

Note: Once the approval letter is issued, it cannot be modified. Therefore, if you intend to arrive earlier than the date indicated on the approval letter, you must apply for a new approval letter to update the arrival date.

For Evisa : Just show your Evisa at the immigration desk. The immigration officier will stamp your passport.

For Approval Letter : Upon arrival at the airport anticipate completing a straightforward form. Ensure you have at least 2 passport-sized photos (dimensions 04*06cm), 25 USD per person for the stamp fee (for a 1-month single entry) or 50 USD for a multiple entry visa. The entire process typically takes around 15 to 30 minutes (refer to our visa procedure guide at Vietnam airports).

Important Tips: Although the visa stamping process at Vietnam airport usually takes 15-30 minutes, there are occasions when it may take longer (1.5-2 hours) due to high arrival volumes. To expedite your process:

  • Disembark promptly upon landing to secure a favorable position in line.
  • Prepare all necessary documents beforehand (photos, arrival forms).

You have the option to request an approval letter at your convenience, although we recommend waiting until a nearer date (around 1-2 months before your departure) to apply. This precaution allows for any potential changes in your schedule or plans.
